5 out of 5 stars Looking for good sound quality? Then look no further.   August 17, 2008

Sound quality is vital for me just because I love to listen to music and I spent a very long time reading reviews for many brands before spotting the reviews for this device. Other reviews claimed the sound quality was good and I can confirm the quality is excellent. No hiss (other than when tuned into a signal where there is a strong radio station signal), no background noises whatsoever even when played loud.

As for setting it up...it's very easy. It defaults to the frequency 88.1 and this is fine where I live so no need to change it. I've used it while travelling and I simply pushed up on the search button, it went to the next free frequency 88.7, I tuned my radio into 88.7 and hit the "set" button. Easy as that!

Great display and easy to read. Arrived next day after ordering and it was very well packed and the booklet says there's a 2 year warranty!!!

All in all a very good buy and well worth spending the readies.

very disappointed by this after reading all the positive reviews.
very rarely get good reception, especially if you go to London where there are a lot of radio stations it was impossible to listen to.

I bought this item expecting a lot & initially I was very pleased, but & there is a but, when I started driving the signal didn't so much as come & go but more if your aerial picks up any sort of station signal it overides the signal to the ipod & the sound quality is awful, it basically takes the great sound quality of your ipod & reverts it to an old cassette tape quality complete with back ground hiss. There is a catch though, I then tried this in our other car which is newer but more importantly the radio reception is rubbish & when you use it in this where there's no chance of picking up half signals as such it works fantastically it's clear & crisp & doe's what it says on the tin. Therefore I can only surmise that from my experience if you've got a good reception from your antenna on your car & you live in an area that has alot of different station signals, partial or whole, then I don't think this is for you. However if your reception is not that good & you lose the signals of radio station's quite quickly, then go for it this will work superbly.

1 out of 5 stars How does it work?!   April 1, 2008

Cannot find any FM location in which this ridiculous device will transmit. The Amazon market seller did not provide an address or phone number on the receipt, indicating how little faith it had in the product. And of course did not respond to my email query for assistance through the Amazon website. Most unsatisfactory and now pending a small courts claim.

1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing   March 26, 2008

I was gutted with this item. The transmitter obviously sat at the front of the vehicle, and my aerial is at the back on the roof (VW Bora) but the sound quality was terrible, and it often struggled to find a suitable FM Frequency. I have since bought an Alpine IDA-X001 head unit instead, plugs into my ipod through a USB cable and the ipod itself is controlly by the head unit which is a much better way to do it if you have the money, as the data is sent digitally
