2 out of 5 stars Very poor sound quality   January 6, 2009
Mr. R. Bondi (Croydon, UK)
First of all: This item is highly recommended for deaf people. The sound quality is rubbish, loads of backgroud noises. I wouldn't buy it once again.
Second of all: They charged more than 4 p&p on it so it was near 8 finally. You can buy much better ones for 10 with free p&p.
Third of all: Delivery was so fast that's why I rated it with two stars.

In fact, you can have a good-for-nothing item very-very fast. :)

3 out of 5 stars Not bad.....   November 14, 2008

I got this to play with my Zen stone in the car.... took me a while to figure out how to set it up - probably cos im not the quickest when it comes to technical devices, however now ive mastered it, its straightforward enuf....
Battery life seems good, easy to connect, although i now seem to have a lot of wire and devices floating around the gear stick.
Sound quality isnt great. Its ok to have it on in the background, but u wont be able to crank it up as loud as you want without the song quality being compromised.
I thought this might also be due to the MP3 player i was using the transmittor with, i've recently upgraded the ZEN stone to a ZEN mosiac, and the sound quality is indeed much better, though again, there is a limit on how high the volume can go... im currently looking at getting a new higher spec FM Transmittor, but this TECKNET was a good starter for me to use as a baseline, plus for the price i really cant have any complaints, its fine. Summary - go ahead and give it a go....

1 out of 5 stars Very Poor Sound   November 10, 2008
Martin (London, England)
Had used a tape converter for my MP3 player in my old car, but my new car only has a CD drive. Thought I'd try one of these and, as they were so reasonably priced, also bought one for a friend. Set up was fine, tried various permutations from the suggestions in these reviews, but after trying it in three different cars, Audi A4, Renault Clio and Vauxhall Corsa, in three different locations, all had the same problems with sound quality, interference at low volume levels, no use for classical music, I didn't even bother leaving the driveway.
Lesson, you get what you pay for.
Interestingly, although all three cars were new, 2008, only the Corsa already has a built in Mini Jack socket for an MP3 player.
Come on car makers, connecting a wire to the AUX socket on a radio and drilling a hole for the mini jack socket, during manufacture, can't be that difficult.

1 out of 5 stars Your ears and your music deserve better   September 6, 2008

It does work but, in my unit, as soon as the LCD's backlight is turned off (automatically after 5 seconds) a horrible noise -interference, begins. In any event, even before the noise starts, loss of sound quality (from your mp3 player to your radio) is evident.
It is cheap because is a low quality product. Can't return because of high ( 4) postage (clearly, this is where the seller makes a few quid).
Amazon should be a little more careful as to whom they allow in their marketplace.

5 out of 5 stars Great piece of kit - bargain   August 28, 2008
David J. Dunmore (Hertfordshire UK)
I bought this to play my MP3 plays through my hi-fi, does the job brilliantly, sound quality very good, no hiss, good battery life with NiMh rechargeables (I don't use disposable batteries). I also use it to play Mp3's in the car - with excellent sound quality (Car is has the optional premium sound system)
