Does what it says on the tin August 29, 2008 Graham Mccarthy (Cheshire) This is a generic USB mains charger that comes with all of the adapters required to plug into any power socket anywhere on earth, it also feels well made and robust. So it can be used to charge just about any USB device; I used mine in Thailand to charge sundry cameras and three different iPods (iPod classic G6, iPod nanoG1 & G2). All worked well with no issues at all. I haven't tried it with the older G3 models of iPod (but these were replaced in 2004) so I guess you must take note of those that have had issues with theirs. One criticism I have is that all of the various adapter plugs are separate and clip onto the main body of the charger when in use and there is no bag in which to store the unused adapters and keep it all together. A trivial issue I know but it gives me an excuse not to award 5 stars. As for those people that have experienced sundry problems, the iPods have been notoriously dodgy on the interface site and there have been many updates to resolve sundry interface issues. I suggest that for those that have experienced intermittent problems, the more likely candidate for the fault must be the iPod itself. I can only write from my own experience and mine is faultless, this charger proved invaluable and as such I can, based upon experience, recommend it.
FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!!!! October 18, 2006 J. Jackson (UK) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
What more could you ask for? A well packaged, great value for money iPod charger with the added bonus of being able to charging my cheap MP3 player and digital camera all for 15! I don't know how other people have found this charger so awful. It's fantastic. I lost the adapter and gear4 sent me another out next day free of charge. I'm sure if anyone else had a problem with a gear4 product then they would have sorted it for them. They were one of the best companies i've ever called with a problem. BUYING AN IPOD? BUY THIS PRODUCT!
World Tour kept my music playing October 13, 2006 Stevo (Southend, UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I found this iPod charger was really useful when I went traverling. I don't know what I would have done without my music and as everyone knows, the battery life for an iPod doesn't seem to last long enough. So it was great that I could charge my iPod in the hostels that I was staying in America, and when I had to travel to each state in the east of the US, I always had a good supply of entertainment. It was true value for money considering that the official iPod charger is the same price but with out any plug adaptors. Despite what these other reviews say, I would really rate the World Tour, I never had any problems with it.
bad connector August 30, 2006 Julie Cutler (Sheffield) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
It snagged on the delicate ipod connection as I was carefully trying to unplug it-(only used it 3 times). I have never had a problem with the official chargers. Given the other reviews (which were favourable for my model when I bought it) it's going in the bin with curses.
THE WORST THING MADE FOR THE I-POD, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 20, 2006 J. A. Madin (United Kindom of Great Britian & Northern Ireland) 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
This is the worst product made for the i-pod, i needed i so i could charge my i-pod in spain, when I bought it i used in the U.K first, it just wouldn't work so I took it back the the place I got it from and got a refund, when I got to the airport a few days later it was on sale in duty free so I bought it again thinking that this one would work, when I first used it in Spain i still had some power on my i-pod left, I charged my i-pod and when I came back to it a few hours later it drained all the power and I could not use my i-pod for the rest of my time in Spain. I know I did not buy this off Amazon but a would not buy this product ever and I recomend that no else buys this because it's a huge waste of money and it will be a mistake if anyone does so.
