1 out of 5 stars Have you guys not noticed...   April 4, 2008
...that this transmitter sends a mono signal & not stereo? It obviously doesn't make a claim to play the music in stereo, just mentions that it plays 'through your car stereo speakers'.
Thats what it does-in a mono stylee. Not my thing I'm afraid so I stopped using it as it sounds dreadful.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   March 18, 2008
I can't believe how easy this gadget was to set up and how well it works. I just plugged it into my lighter socket, it was already tuned to 88.1 so I tuned my radio to the same frequency, connected my Ipod and that was it. Totally brilliant!

5 out of 5 stars Great just what i wanted!   January 8, 2008
This is the kind of thing you use when your bored stiff stuck on a school bus or coach were the driver is listening to some awful radio station like classic fm and you can tune this product into the same frequency and listen to you mp3player!!! works brilliantly its just what i wanted.

it also comes with a USB adapter to connect to a laptop with a cigarette lighter add-on

4 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for...   October 19, 2007
I live in North Norfolk and use these transmitters with my IPAQ, iPod nano, Sony CD Player and Nokia N95

Pros: Does the job. Just.

Cons: Tacky looking, Usual Ringing, No Hold Button

IN THE BOX:

You get a USB Cigarette charger (worth a penny for that really) USB cord to connect to the transmitter and the unit. No rechargable batteries are included

LOOKS:

Tacky. Basically.

ROBUST:

It's survived two weeks in my car, so its gotta do pretty well. Battery cover doesn't fall off which is the normal problem. No hold button though so I have to leave it in my car because it drains power so fast if it switches on in your handbag

SOUNDS:

Not bad for a penny really, good sound in both speakers. Holds the signal well and if the radio adjusts it changes automatically (not all of them do, some just cut out) When you go through a bad signal patch it just cuts out in one speaker for a couple of seconds. It does make a horrible white noise if you move it or the MP3 Player whilst in use

BATTERY:

This is the only thing (apart from the hold switch) That I really am miffed about. I use Energizer 2000mAh batteries with this unit, but it can't charge through the cigarette charger as fast as it uses the battery life. Which means you either have to switch it off and let it charge for a bit every couple of days or change the batteris, which evades the point of having an in car charger! Also there is no indecator on the unit that it is charging (apart from the fact that it doesn't die every 4 hours!) It doesn't charge the MP3 player too.

EXTRA FEATURES:

Apparently there's a flashlight (!) I assume this means the backlight, which is pretty good, gives a nice sharp display, and a thermometor which is permenantly stuck on room temperature. Make your own choices here!

THE ANNOYING IN CAR WHISTLE:

It seems nearly all of these carry this "feature" which is why I list it seperately. With this one, on certain songs on my iPod its non exisitant because the song volume is loud, with the rest its just a dull ring and sits in the background. With my Nokia N95, there's no interference at all because you can turn it up loud enough to drown it out, the same with my IPAQ. My CD player works fine too.

CONCLUSION:

If you just want something that does the job, this is perfect, it comes with everything you need to get started. The only problems are the ringing (as standard), the battery and the lack of a hold button (but that's personal preference.

2 out of 5 stars poor build quality   October 4, 2007
I found the transmitter gave out a fairly strong signal but the build quality was very poor and I needed to mess around with the jack connector all the time as there was a loose connection in there somewhere. You get what you pay for, it does the job but you can't expect a lot for this price.
