| Customer Reviews:
One that works at last October 10, 2008 Daniel Devolder (Barcelona, Spain) I have tried a lot of solutions in order to listen to iPods in my cars. I have a VW iPod kit (very bad solution, very difficult to select your music or podcasts) and also tried cheap FM transmitters that create more noise than music. So I am very happy to report that Incharge FM works beautifully for me with every free or half-free FM channel I have tried. The sound is clear and as good as FM gets. I suppose this have to do with the fact that the Incharge FM outputs a strong signal. I read that in the review of this product on the iLounge web site, and this seems to be true indeed. No need for more expansive devices that autoscan in order find a free channel. The only thing missing for me is that this device does not send RDS information (so the title and artist name do not appear on the radio display). Other pluses are that the cable is connected to the auto plug through USB. So you can use the plug to charge other devices (your phone for example) and also you can connect the incharge FM to your computer in order to use it at home. And the fact that the device is aesthetic and very good looking, and also charges the iPod is sufficient for me to give it a 5 stars rating. Thanks a lot XtremeMac! (For the record I use the 87.5 FM channel for listening, as I got a EU model which use a wider range than the US one).
Simple but powerful. July 30, 2008 Richard This doesn't have many features. It lacks the Griffin Autopilot with SmartScan's ability to try and find an empty station and the extra iPod controls, but what it has is much more important; a strong clear signal. The big flaw with FM transmitters is normally that whenever there is the slightest trace of a competing signal they become unusable. Possibly a slight exaggeration, but generally speaking it is true. The XtremeMac however remains clear most of the time, and even when I set it to compete with a number of local radio stations, I still had a clearer signal than I have experienced with other transmitters on empty stations. Also the ability to use the charging bit to charge anything that powers through usb, in your car is quite useful. All in all, it does the simple stuff well, and that is more than enough.
