4 out of 5 stars Does the job   June 3, 2007

I was a bit skeptical after reading other reviews but for the price I thought I would risk it. Not too thrilled by the delivery cost but I guess if that was less the product would cost more. Cheap build quality but have had it working in the house and in the car (Peugeot 106) and the sound quality is fine. So far so good.

It works in the car but the volume has to be quite high and there is a background hiss, which can be herd clearly when no music playing. The price is 0.01 but the delivery is around 4.99, so not much point returning the item unless it dosnt work. NOT RECOMMENDED

5 out of 5 stars Cheap but works for me.   May 5, 2007

Thanks to IanM - the frequencies (for the green lights) are 0.1 out. However, I found that the best signal was found on 108.0, which is with no green lights on - just the red power light, and this was with my radio set to 108.0 as well (no deviation in frequency)

My radio/CD is the built in Saab setup - and difficult to replace with an MP3 based alternative so this is ideal.

Cheap yes, Works yes

2 out of 5 stars Works ok indoor but not in car, doesn't work with car adapter at all   May 1, 2007

I was able to get this gadget work in house using two AAA cells, however it doesn't even switches on using the supplied car adapter (I tried another adapter as well to ensure that its not adapter problem). Using cells in car doesn't give sufficient power (I guess) to raise transmission power so that my Sony car stereo could catch it. Was a waste for me as I was mainly interested for using it in car.

Hope it helps somebody else!!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price!   April 4, 2007

I bought this device to play music from my Sony Ericsson K750i in the car (via a handsfree cable attached to the phone & the FM transmitter). I was initially unable to get a clean signal in the car when manually tuning to any of the four FM frequencies printed on the unit's front panel, but soon realised the frequencies are 0.1 out (107.5 on the unit = 107.6 on the radio, 107.9 on the unit = 108.0 on the radio, etc) and retuned. The sound quality is now as good as I could hope for from car speakers and I have not noticed any significant hissing or loss of signal. For 5 (including delivery) this a great bit of kit!

The only reason I've not given 5 stars is that I don't (yet) know how long it will run on a single pair of AAA batteries (although it does come with a 12volt car accessory cable if you don't want to use batteries).
