4 out of 5 stars Excellent Buy!!   February 28, 2007

I bought a transmitter for [...] and it was not a patch on this brilliant item. The expensive one was impossible to tune in but this transmitter gets a brilliant reception, the sound is excellent and it is very robust. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a cheap but effcient transmitter for a very low price.

2 out of 5 stars Cheap for a reason, you get what you pay for!   February 25, 2007

This item is listed as under a pound. That for a start is a lie, because P&P is over 6. That's 600% more than the cost of the product. Amazon should have rules for market place items.

My other main issue is that this product is pretty poor. Even 1 meter away from the radio causes it problems, and that is in the house. In my car it was even worse, i had to use my rear cig lighter so i could wrap the wire around my hand brake, so that the hand break effectively used my car as an arial.

Every time you turn the thing on you need to re-tune the radio cos the signal changes every time. Also due to it's tiny writing and tiny switch, it's very annoying to use on the move when you are driving. Most of the time there is background noise and radio stations cut in. I don't even live in a big city.

I also think it needs more choice of frequencies as the ones it holds are no good if there is already something on them. The power lead also doesn't connect properly so can fall out, and if that happens you just get a plast of static very loud, because you've had to turn up your radio.

Only by this product if you live in the sticks and you have money to spare and no other option.

I hate writing bad reviews but i really mean it when i say don't just go for it cos it's cheap...it's cheap cos it's rubbish!

This is excelent except for one slight problem. the battery compartment could do with some foram or somthing similar sto stop the battarys becoming loose i solved this problem by placing a small peico of cardboard behind the battery cover. The device has excellent clarity (no hissing at all unlike other devices i own) light in the hand and on the wallet.

For the price there is little to criticise. This unit works well in the car without interference and also at home. The buzzing sound that a previous reviewer has noticed may be due to interference from a fluorescent light source, as I have noticed this happens when mine is close to some low-energy bulbs at home.

I have had one of these for about three months and until recently it had been working well. It has started running out of power very quickly and loses all transmission quality very quickly (within one minute). Still, for the price and my useage it lasted quite well and i would reccomend it for light usage.
