God awful January 6, 2008 Steve C (UK) The broadcast range is limited (88.1-107.9)and thus in busy areas (such as London) you have no hope of getting any signal consistently. The connection is irritating and poorly designed. Combined with poor build quality (the connection between the stem and the unit broke with virtually no effort when moving position) this is an over-priced and pointless unit unless you live in an area with no radio stations.

Belkin TuneBase - FM Transmitter for iPod January 4, 2008 Philip Bowler 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product is ok, the sound quality isn't as good as normal radio and I did get some background hiss even though I followed all the recommended procedures. The worst feature is that it uses the car socket for support, mine was an incredibly tight fit with the rubber gasket on without it it was too sloppy, in fact we broke my partners dash board on a new car whilst driving to Cornwall. WE tried to take the unit out and pulled out the entire socket. The unit finally snapped at the hinge where the Ipod sits after 6 months!
This is the correct item for localised FM transmission of iPod audio December 30, 2007 Mr. F. C. Franklin 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Belkin Tunebase recharges the iPod battery, whilst transmitting the audio to one's car stereo FM receiver. When transmitting on an unused frequency, the audio quality is excellent; however, when driving in an area where there are a multiplicity of FM stations - in London, or some other large metropolitan region - you may well experience unwanted interference. This is also a possibility when moving from one FM transmitter region to another, perhaps on a long motorway journey. In this circumstance, one can take advantage of the six pre-programmable frequencies, easily accessible via the front panel. Features apart, the construction is of the highest quality, and it came with a plethora of adapters, one of which was a precise fit for our 40Gbyte, 4th generation device. In conclusion, and notwithstanding the necessity of having some clear FM airspace, it would be remiss of me not to recommend this device
What a super little device. December 30, 2007 C. McConnachie (Borders, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I cannot praise this unit highly enough. Since it arriving I have been nothing but impressed with it! It tuned into an FM station easily using the iPod's colour display as its own and the first frequency I tried provided crystal clear sound. The fact that t can store up to four stations is a real bonus as we frequently have to chnage because of where we live. This is by far the best FM transmitter i have tried. It fits all i-pods made to date(Dec 2007) and we like it so much we are getting another for our other car. What a super little device.
