Top gadget February 27, 2008 Christopher Anderson (Yorkshire) I recently inherited a car with a cassette player in it!! Most of my cassettes bit the dust years ago. Instead of forking out for a new MP3-playing car stereo, I took a chance on this little FM transmitter, based on the reviews here. It not only works with my Sony MP3 player in the car (from inside my coat pocket), it also transmits to all FM radios in the house on the same frequency, with no interference and without me needing to move it around the house. Definately recommended, especially at this price.
Glad I took the chance. February 21, 2008 Rob D. (Warks, UK) Having read the odd poor review for this item, I was in two minds, but I took the plunge and am glad I did. It does what it says on the tin - although as is mentioned in other feedbacks there can be a high-pitched pulse, especially when using the provided power supply and during quite moments - but hey, you're playing your MP3 over the car radio and you only spent 7:00 - what do you expect, someone selling you choc-ices between tracks !! I've not had to re-tune at all - Have even switched it off only to find a real radio station come belting through on the same frequency - hadn't heard a peep from them whilst using this device. Couldn't get the home hi-fi tuned into it at all - then I remembered, the home hi-fi has no aerial as it's attached direct to cable - doh. Oh - And do get someone else to manage the MP3 when you're driving - I suspect selecting tracks yourself to be more dangerous than using the mobile !!
Excellent FM Transmitter and great value February 18, 2008 Don C (Oxfordshire, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent - sound quality and volume is very good. It works well in the car. I've not noticed any interferance when driving. I've been using it with a Zen Stone Plus. Need to turn the CD/radio volume up a bit. Also works with standard CD/FM radio in the house to play tracks I only have in MP3 format. The unit is small and easy to use. The option of battery or power off the cigarette lighter provides flexibility, and can connect the power via USB to the MP3 player from one power socket. At 7 including delivery - cannot be beaten.
Cheap and cheerful February 2, 2008 Mr. R. Talukder (Yorkshire, England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great device at a very reasonable price. I paid 6.99 including the ( 6) P&P. Very fast delivery - came the next day. Personally I use the 87.5 MHz channel (the minimum) and don't encounter any problems with this. Great reception all over the house and in the car too. Some other reviews have mentioned hearing unwanted background noise especially when they use the included car power supply. Using the power supply I can hear a faint but regular high pitched pulse or beat in the background. However I find this disappears when I use batteries instead of the power supply. This device also incorporates a flash light, thermometer, and a clock. It took me a while to figure out how to use the flash light. This isn't documented anywhere in the instructions (on the back of the box) but you can turn the flash light on/off by pressing both the channel up and channel down buttons together. The thermometer just gives you the room temperature digitally on the display. The clock displays when not transmitting - otherwise it shows the transmission frequency. In conclusion it does what it says on the tin. Includes a couple of extra features which work. All in all I'm delighted with this purchase. Recommended.
Hit and Miss January 28, 2008 S. Brown The service was excellent, I agree. I have used this in the car, but seem to have to constantly retune it due to changeable reception. The clarity is much better when the car charger is un-plugged and it is running on battery power-the background noise lessens; defeats the point of a car charger really! No complaints using it with a stereo system in the house.
