OK for technophobes! October 22, 2008 H. Stevens (Shrewsbury) As a middle-aged female, more used to vinyl than electronic music, I found this product relatively easy to use. It does exactly what it said on the package in the exact way it said on the package. My MP3 player volume was low and the product needed adjusting in the car socket, both of which caused me a good ten minutes to discover. For the price this product is amazing and extremely good value.
Brilliant October 19, 2008 Alan Jowett (Pembrokeshire, Wales) I bought one of these last week from Gizmo Deals. Not only did it arrive almost before my computer had cooled down it worked as soon as it was plugged in. I'd copied a compilation of songs to a 512 flash pen, plugged it in, tuned in the car radio and there it all was! Brilliant little piece of equipment.
Disappointed October 8, 2008 Regular Amazon customer (UK) Although I knew this would be a basic product I had high expectations from other reviews and I did think that its performance would be better. It cannot cope with extremes of frequency or loudness as it produces quite a lot of reverberation. I thought this was the radio's loudspeakers at first but checked my radio again & they are OK - it must be to do with the device. Even though I've tuned it into the correct frequency & made sure that it's bedded in the socket properly, there is still some electronic noise. The specified 3 foot audio lead is half the length at 18 inches and the jack plugs are a loose fit. The competitive price is a good way of finding out if this is something I would want to use long term.
Recommended September 30, 2008 Mr. A. Hartington (Bexley, UK) I'd previously had a Griffin FM transmitter for a 2G iPod, but that had the additional connection next to the phone jack, so I couldn't use it on my new 4G iPod - that's why I bought this. I think that the Lupo is the better product -I'd avoid any product that plugs into the base of an iPod as you won't be able to use it on any other product. The Lupo does have the drawback that you can only use it in the car. The good thing about battery powereds ones is that you can use them in the house, and tune radios in different rooms to the same station, so you get the same music throughout the house. The choice of stations, although limited, has not been a problem for me. One niggle is that the jack somehow didn't make contact with the connections in the headphone socket in the 4G iPod (though it worked fine on the 2G and Zen MP3 players I tried it on), so I had to use a small headphone extension lead I had to hand. I liked the fact that it can play USB memory sticks - and it does. I'll be getting some of these to give for Christmas presents this year - good for Secret Santa at this price!
More than Happy September 5, 2008 Alan Stewart (UK) With the cost of MP3 players still troublesome at the higher storage capacities, a device that takes the common memory-stick and transforms it into a treasure-chest of files to listen to on the move has to be praised highly. I'm so pleased that so many memory-sticks have dropped in price that I can use this little Lupo device with great freedom, leaving my stand alone MP3 players for use away from the car. The device is small, natty, and easy to use once you have tuned the car's radio to a suitable frequency and saved it. I was astonished how easy manipulating the control buttons on the move was even at the very first use on a long journey. I was even more pleased when having to turn the player off at a motorway services stop, that re-starting the player it picked up where we left off listening. Great for those people who listen to audio books. I can imagine that some users will prefer a remote control version, but for me I found this version ideal and bought another as a present straight away. (The prospect of one of the children zapping the tracks from the back seat simply didn't appeal to me, even though this is was I do with the TV remote.) The product is great value, and good to use. With the service from G-D so good too, the whole experience of this purchase from start to use has been first-rate.
